it all began when, well, when I began.

Growing up on a farm in Illinois, I spent my time on creative projects like knitting, sewing, and drawing. I always loved the views and smells of summer fields.

In college I studied Agribusiness and Agronomy; I was especially intrigued by soil science.

After some years working in non-profit organizations, I came back to my ‘roots’ in 2020 and planted the seed that would become this business.

I had always enjoyed planting flowers at the several houses my husband and I renovated for our family over the years. In 2018, we landed at our current home in Noblesville: a 1961 ranch surrounded by flower beds long neglected. Over the next few years, it became my favorite place to be. Using the Seek app, I identified hundreds of plants, some I’d never heard of, like Brunnera and Epimedium (both are happy in the dry shade I have). I gushed over Penstemon and Baptisia. I cleared weeds and invasive species (stillll working on that!) and ‘plopped and dropped’ many box-store bargains. Watching what flourished and failed, how different colors chorused or clashed, I was fascinated.

In 2020, when the time came for a career pivot, I knew I wanted to help others connect to their own landscapes; to give their bit of land some love and receive it multiplied back. After completing several training programs and projects for friends, I officially launched in 2022.

Each project presents a new puzzle to solve, navigating the soil, water, sunlight, and size parameters for a space. Each project is also its own tapestry, weaving together color, texture, and form. Each project takes on its own personality. I hope to help connect that personality to yours, so you connect to your land, and smile when you see it.
